Whit Hot

Nevada Baylor is back and she's about to learn that the world is a cold place.

In the second installment of The Hidden Legacy series Nevada Baylor and her quirky family are back. Last we saw, Nevada and Mad Rogan had just captured Adam Pierce and saved Houston from fiery destruction. Now that the Pierce case is behind her Nevada believes she can get on with her life. Boy is she wrong. After donning a cape and mask and helping find a missing little girl Nevada is spent, using her magic and keeping it secret can take a lot out of a girl. But once she gets home she finds getting sleep might not be that easy when her doorbell rings and standing on her doorstep is none other than Cornelius Harrison Adam Pierce's "boyhood companion" and animal mage. He and his daughter Matilda are need of Baylor Investigations services. Nari Harrison, Cornelius' wife and Matilda's mother has been murdered along with three other lawyers working for House Forsberg and no one will tell them why. The Baylors are sucked back in to danger where a Psychrokentic Prime, an ice mage, and a psionic Prime, a will manipulative mage, are conspiring to rain chaos down on Houston and the only man who can keep them alive is Connor "Mad" Rogan. The tension between Nevada and Rogan is  undeniable but these two might never get a chance if they don't figure out who's behind the killings and why.

Review
Ilona Andrews has done it again. I have been waiting for White Hot to be released for three long years and I was trilled to get my hands on this book. I didn't think I could love these characters more, Boy Howdy was dead wrong. Where Burn for Me sizzled, White Hot gave me chills from page one and kept me wanting more till the very end. Nevada has only gotten stronger and her family crazier and I so badly want to step into their world and join in the hijinks. There's no one character I don't love and want to know more about. Whit Hot had me laughing out loud. Leon's commentary of the insane battle that was brought to the Baylor's front door was the best part of any book I have read in a long while. Connor "Mad" Rogan is becoming one of my favorite book boyfriends. As always Ilona Andrews mixes action, humor, and a great deal of heart in her work leaving jonesing for another dose of this magical world.
