Magic Burns is the second book in the Kate Daniels series by Ilona Andrews.  In this book Kate finds herself pitted against undead mermaids, a man who came teleport and maybe the hardest thing she'll ever face. Motherhood. The thing that I enjoyed the most about this book was Kate's relationship with Julie, the street kid who in desperate need of Kate's help. Her mother is missing and so is her mother's coven. Kate fears everything that' happening is connected and add to that the flare all roads point to no where good.

Magic Bites is the first book in the Kate Daniels series by Ilona Andrews. I'm a huge fan of urban fantasy's and this series does the genre proud. Kate is a smart mouth, hard hitting, merc and she makes no apologies about it. The relationship between Kate and Curran is fun, they both annoy eachother while still being drawn together. I have to admit that this book has one moment that just pisses me off. At one point Curran and his shapeshifters makes Kate give them information and then they decide to confront her almost boyfriend. This I'm ok with what bothers me is after the shapeshifters have ruined her relationship Curran tells her next time keep your ideas to yourself.  This annoys because it was all his doing and then he turns everything on her. GRR...men!

Fire Touched

Mercy and her pack have been through the ringer and things aren't looking to great for the future either. When  a troll goes on a rampage the pack is the only thing standing between the city and its destruction. So when Mercy declares the city belongs under the pack's protection they'll have to prove they are able to stand behind her words even if it means standing alone.

Fire Touched is the ninth book in the Mercy Thompson series by Patricia Briggs.  What I really liked about this book is how the pack starts to come together. This book also delves more into the fae and their world. The thing that makes this series great in my opinion is the cast of characters and this book is chalk full of the dynamic characters .
