Third Grave Dead Ahead is the third installment of the Charley Davidson series by Darynda Jones.
This book picks up about two weeks after the prior book. Charley's not sleeping which sets the stage for lots of humor. But though this book is just as funny as the first two books of the series if not more so, this book delves into more dark and sadder areas. Beware here lies spoilers! To me the saddest part was when Artemis, the loveable Rottweiler guard dog passes. I know I should be more upset with the picture of young Reyse and believe me I was thoroughly disturbed. My heart broke when she died, I'm such an animal lover I took it hard. But alas everything turns out ok. I liked this book because we finally see more than just the smart-ass side of Charley, we see her broken and betrayed and we get a good look at what a fighter she truly is.
