Raised amongst the werewolves she has learned to keep her head down and stay out of other people's business. But when a young boy shows up at her shop looking for work Mercy can't turn him away. Sure he's a werewolf and a young one too, but Mercy can't help but want to take care of him. That's when things go to hell in a hand basket. Mercy must turn to her overbearing neighbor the handsome, control freak Adam Hauptman the local werewolf alpha and all around thorn in Mercy's side. Things go wrong and Adam is hurt and his human daughter has gone missing, add to that the dead werewolves littering both Adam and Mercy's property and Mercy knows she's in a heap of hot water. But something doesn't add up and Mercy doesn't know who to trust, so she decides to go to the one place she never thought she would return.... home.

Review
Moon Called is the first book in the Mercy Thompson series by Patricia Briggs. I've read a lot of series and I have to admit that this one is one of the best out there. Mercy is the type of girl I would be honored to call a friend. She's smart, funny, and loyal to a T. She risks everything for those she cares about. She's very few friends and the one's she has are mostly men, being a mechanic it's understandable. She has this rag-tag group o people in her life, some gay, some fae, some human but all people she would die for and she very nearly does. This book takes the tiredness of vampires and werewolves and gives it a fresh new take that leaves readers thoroughly entertained and captivated until the very end.
